Evictions in New Orleans: Exploring New Data and Needed Interventions

Across the country’s urban centers, disinvestment, displacement, and rising rents have created a housing crisis with many families paying half or more of their income in rent. Louisiana is no exception. Panelists will present on new data revealing the extent of the eviction epidemic in New Orleans, its impacts along race and gender lines, and discuss policy solutions on the table in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and the state legislature.

Join us Monday, February 18th to discuss “Evictions in New Orleans: Exploring New Data and Needed Interventions” with panelists Davida Finger, Clinic Professor of Law – Loyola University of New Orleans, Breonne DeDecker, Program Manager – Jane Place Neighborhood Sustainability Initiative, and Hannah Adams, Staff Attorney – Southeast Louisiana Legal Services.

Red Beans Roundtables are casual conversations. Small Center provides red beans and rice from Café Reconcile and great panels of speakers who have unique insights into the big issues facing New Orleans. We ask our panelists and all participants to bring their questions, expertise, and appetites to Small Center so we can all learn and teach together.

As always, events at Small Center are free and open to the public!
