Summer Fellows present research at Eskew+Dumez+Ripple

On Friday, this year’s summer public interest design fellows – Kekeli, Kelsey, Christie, Ryan, Ana, and Carolyn – presented their summer research to the designers at Eskew+Dumez+Ripple. Fellows discussed three main projects.

  1. Planning for storm water in the 7th Ward, by studying water management and flooding mitigation techniques and meeting with residents to design a community engagement tool that might be replicable for similar issues across the city.
  2. Working with Groundworks NOLA to plan, design, and build a shade structure with bench and phone charging station.
  3. Mapping in Treme to show the advantages of historically/contextually appropriate density to address affordable housing needs.

The summer public interest design fellowship is made possible through the generous support of Eskew+Dumez+Ripple, Morris Adjmi, and the Sizeler family.
