Student Opportunities
Are you a student at Tulane School of Architecture? There are many opportunities to get involved at Small Center, whether you’d like to take the design/build studio offered each semester, apply for our Summer Public Interest Design Fellowship, or work at Baronne Street as a paid intern.
How to get involved
Project-based internships or courses
Some projects are structured as coursework where students earn credit, others are structured as paid design internships focused on a particular project. Learn more about open opportunities at our Fall Student open house.
Design/Build Studio Courses
We offer a design build option studio each semester. See the list of all of our current courses offered at TSA here.
GRA/ GRTFs and Work Study Opportunities
Each semester we hire several student workers and welcome Graduate Research Assistants onto our team our staff’s work. At the beginning of every semester, look out for an open-call for help with specific projects.
Public Interest Design Summer Fellowship
The PID Summer Fellowship is an intensive 8 week program allowing young designers to put their education into practice by advancing community-based projects in New Orleans. Look out for a call for applications early in the Spring Semester. You can see some booklets from past PID Summer Fellowships here, here, and here.
