Design/Build Manager, Emilie Taylor Welty, Receives Malcolm Heard Award
Congratulations to Emilie Taylor Welty, our Design/Build Manager and Professor of Practice at Tulane School of Architecture, for receiving the Malcolm Heard Award for Excellence in Teaching! Emilie was selected by Tulane School of Architecture’s Class of 2017 for her dedicated and tireless commitment to the students she works with every day.
In 2005, as a Masters’ student at Tulane School of Architecture, Emilie helped create Small Center (then Tulane City Center). For over 12 years now, she has worked to teach architecture students how to be better designers, makers, and citizens. Her most recent design projects at Small Center include the Big Class Writers’ Room, Community Book Center Renovation, and Parisite Skate Park.
